While emphasizing treatment for anxiety, depression, grief, and loss, I welcome people of all ages to come, take a break, and explore their concerns in a safe and supportive environment. Facing challenges, navigating change, recovering from loss, and learning emotional regulation are lifelong human experiences. I will work with you to develop techniques that empower you to handle your concerns in a way that is authentic to you. I earned my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Oakland University. During my internship at New Oakland Family Centers, I facilitated group therapy for adults, adolescents and children 8+ in the Partial Hospitalization Program. Clients experiencing a broad spectrum of mental health challenges, including thought, mood, and anxiety disorders, suicidal ideation, and substance use disorders. As a student counselor during my Practicum at Oakland University, I worked with adults with anxiety, depression, family relationship conflicts, grief and loss, and life adjustment issues. My framework is based on Cognitive Behavioral and Humanistic/ Existential therapy, employing a Person-Centered approach. While we have limited control of our external world, we can learn to create the life we choose by developing self-awareness, learning coping and communication skills, identifying our basic needs, understanding emotions, and identifying a life purpose. I provide an open, honest, nonjudgmental space for clients' healing and self-discovery. "When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." - Viktor E.
