Eric provides a compassionate, safe, empathetic, and judgement free space for his clients to share their life experiences. He believes that the therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor that contributes to growth and change. Eric works with clients of all ages from an existential-humanistic orientation which considers the whole person and respects the uniqueness of each individual. Existential-humanism assumes that people have an innate need to improve their world and they do so by exercising their free-will and personal responsibility. Eric also uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy in order to help facilitate a client’s understanding of how their thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs about themselves and others contribute to how they experience their internal and external environments. Eric works with a broad spectrum of diagnoses including individuals who are in a transitional period due to a recent job loss, the death of a loved one, a recent move, or a divorce.

Additionally, Eric enjoys and welcomes the opportunity to provide pre-marital counseling for couples who are ready to take the next step in their relationship. In a safe and neutral environment, couples will be encouraged to discuss the major issues of marriage including children, finances, living environment, intimacy, and the marriage partners expectations of the marriage. The goal is for couples to gain a deeper level of understanding of each other and set the tone for a prosperous life together.

Eric received his master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology and his undergrad in social work from Eastern Michigan University.
