Kristin is a Licensed Master Social Worker who completed her graduate studies in Interpersonal Practice and Mental Health at the University of Michigan in 2017. She previously obtained her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and English at U of M in 2012. During the interim, yoga became an integral part of her personal growth, leading her to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training program in 2017. Her yoga experience has informed her understanding of the mind-body connection in working with trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, and addiction. Her approach also includes elements of behavioral therapies and mindfulness, balancing change and acceptance in supporting clients to pursue their goals with self-compassion and intention. Additionally, her approach has been strongly influenced by attachment theory as a framework for cultivating security in interpersonal relationships.
Kristin’s work history includes career and education counseling at the U of M Center for the Education of Women (now CEW+), in-depth psychosocial and psychiatric assessment at Washtenaw County Community Mental Health, providing clinical supervision, and providing both virtual and in-person psychotherapy in multiple settings. She particularly enjoys working with teens, couples, and adults of all ages.
