Treatment Options, Insurances We Accept, and More

Below are answers to some of the most common questions we hear from new and prospective patients.

What Treatments Do You Provide?

Viewpoint Psychology & Wellness provides individual, group, family, and relationship therapy. Each treatment provider works from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Medication Management, Family Systems Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Play Therapy. Our practice also provides psychological assessments and testing for both cognitive and emotional-based referral questions.

What Insurance Do You Accept?

Each practitioner accepts different insurances based on a variety of factors, but overall we accept a wide range of plans.  For more information, please visit our insurance page or contact a member of our team today.

Can I Afford Therapy?

Yes, therapy is affordable for everyone. We accept a variety of insurance plans as well as private pay options. Some of our therapists offer a sliding scale to accommodate clients that don't have insurance. This means that you and your therapist can attempt to agree upon a fee that is comfortable for both of you. If our practice is unable to work within your financial means, we will refer you to someone who can.

How Much Does Therapy Cost if I Have Insurance?

Each insurance plan is different and varies in what they pay their providers. As a client, you are responsible for your copays and deductibles. You can contact your insurance company directly to determine what your copay or deductible may be prior to coming in for treatment.

What Office/Contact Hours are Available?

Practitioners create their own hours and will schedule their clients per their availability.

How Do I Choose the Right Therapist?

After providing information to our staff regarding your therapeutic needs, a provider that meets the specific criteria that you are requesting will contact you to discuss treatment options. If you feel that the assigned provider is not a good fit for you or your family, we are able to discuss your concerns and refer you to another provider within or outside our practice.  If you would like to speak with a therapist before coming into the office, we now offer teletherapy sessions to help you feel more comfortable.

How Long Will I Have To Be In Treatment?

This is a difficult question to answer as it depends on numerous factors. Some of these factors include time constraints, motivation for change, insurance, concerns that are identified, goals, and a therapeutic approach. Please discuss this question with your therapist, so they are able to make appropriate treatment recommendations based on your individual situation.

How Long Will an Assessment and/or Testing Take?

This will depend on the referral question that is provided to the practitioner prior to testing. Some questions require one or two tests and some require extensive testing that may take several sessions to complete. In addition, a clinical interview from several individuals will be required to complete the testing. The reports following the testing will likely take two to three weeks to complete. The psychologist who will be completing the testing will discuss this information with you prior to beginning this process.

How Do I Know If I Need a Higher Level of Care?

Your therapist will assess your current condition and make recommendations based on the severity of symptoms. However, if you are in a situation where you are thinking about hurting yourself or someone else, we recommend that you contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Is Viewpoint Psychology & Wellness a Group Practice?

Yes, Viewpoint Psychology & Wellness is a private group practice that has a variety of practitioners with specialties working within it.
